A delegation from the Democratic Republic of Congo, which came to Ethiopia to experience the implementation of Ethiopia’s national identity card and the overall situation of the civil registration system, visited the headquarters of the Civil Registration and Residency Services Agency.
The team, led by Richard Ilunga, Director General of the Office of Identification of the Population, is composed of representatives from the Prime Minister’s Office, the Ministry of Health, the Civil Registration Agency, the Ministry of Interior, the Telecom and Postal Services, and technology application institutions, and is conducting a visit to learn about the Ethiopian experience in building a digital system.
The agency’s Director General, Ato Yonas Alemayehu, welcomed the group and shared the city’s experience with issues that needed clarification regarding the civil registration system and joint coordination of benefits, coverage and organization of birth registration, coordination of health institutions, and the support provided by the institution to the city administration.
