In the past two months, more than 1.3 million citizens in Addis Ababa city have registered for the "Faida" digital ID

More than 1.3 million citizens have registered for the "Faida" digital ID in Addis Ababa city in the past two months:

The Civil Registration and Residents Services Agency announced that more than 1.3 million citizens have registered for the "Faida" digital ID in Addis Ababa city in the past two months.

In an interview with AMN, the agency's Deputy Director General and Head of Technology, Bereket Bekele, stated that the "Faida" digital ID is being made accessible to the public by creating awareness about its multifaceted benefits.

Ato Bereket stated that the service is being provided in all districts of the Addis Ababa City Administration through the Civil Registration and Residents Services Office, and that the service is also being made accessible in schools and residential areas.

In this regard, the National Identification Program and the Civil Registration and Resident Services Agency have jointly registered more than 1.3 million citizens in the capital in the past two months.

They noted that the awareness of the public has been increasing over time through special campaigns, which have yielded positive results.

They further stated that citizens will be required to have a "Faida" digital ID when seeking services from various institutions.

It was noted that in order to monitor the registration system and in the event of a loss of the "Faida" digital ID number, the lost number can be retrieved by simply entering the phone number on the Faida website (http://ID.et).
