Nations, Nationalities and Peoples Day Celebrated

The Civil Registration and Residency Service Agency of Addis Ababa City Administration celebrated the 19th Nations, Nationalities and Peoples Day, which is celebrated under the theme “National Consensus for National Unity”, with the presence of the agency’s leaders and employees.

The celebration of the holiday is of great importance in terms of accommodating diversity and ensuring national unity, said Ato Setaw Addis, a training expert at the agency, who presented a discussion document based on the holiday.

Ato Setaw said that consensus is needed on key issues that are the basis of the state, adding that the “constitution” is the supreme law of all laws, stipulates major issues and pillars of the system, and is enacted by citizens through discussion and consultation.

In a message sent by the Agency’s Director General, Ato Yonas Alemayehu, he said that November 29 is one of the days in Ethiopia’s history that has been recorded in a positive way, and that many people have made sacrifices to make this day possible.

He added that it is necessary to always think about the continuity of Ethiopia, and the Director conveyed his message that we should work hard in our work and hand over a better country to the next generation.
