Addis Ababa city services have been provided with a new CRVS, e-ID and Mobile ID system that will replace the existing civil registration and residency service system. Preparatory preparations have been completed to put it into operation. An agreement was reached today with the Information Network Security Administration.
In addition, an agreement was made with the National ID Project Office to jointly manage the Faida registration work in Addis Ababa for the next two years. It will be remembered that the institutions have been coordinating the registration work for the past one month and it will continue to be consolidated in the coming months.
The new project, led by the consulting work of the two federal institutions, replaces the existing system that is being complained about by the residents and transfers the services of the institution to the online system. The institution has an option that includes application and has a significant role in turning Addis Ababa into a smart city. It will fully update the existing service and will be implemented in the coming months.
The project consulting agreement was signed by Dr. Warku Gachna, Director General of Artificial Intelligence Institute, Ms. Tugst Hamid, Director General of Information Network Security Management, and Mr. Solomon Amare, Head of Innovation and Technology Development Bureau of Addis Ababa City Administration, and Mr. Jonas Alemayehu, Head of Civil Registration and Residency Service Agency. Director has jointly signed and Mr Yodahe Arayaslase and Ato Yonas Alemayehu have signed.
